>>> Jacob and Barbara appeared to have about 7 children. Jacob, jr., was born sometime between 1774 and 1791. On 31 January 1806, Jacob, jr., married Catharine Lingerfelt in Lincoln Co., NC, and appeared to have moved to Jackson Co., Illinois soon afterwards. • This is a great source for understanding the families who settled along the Catawba River. A well research book.

Pioneers and Makers of Arkansas; By: Josiah H Shinn, A.M.; Page: 280-1; Published/Publisher: [1908] Genealogical and Historical Publishing Company; Printed By: Democrat Printing & Lithographing Co., Little Rock, AR.

  • This book lists a span of generations into the Brilhart family, but does not detail any of the marriages important to differentiating Jacob Brilhart from generation to generation. Further investigation is required to confirm this thought.

  • This posting deserves further exploration, but at this time it supports the idea that the Jacob Brilhart who settled in Illinois is the son of the Jacob Brilhart who settled in North Carolina. More documentation is needed to confirm this thought.
